Water Labor
Currently the
hospitals that we deliver at do not allow water birth, only water
labor. Water labor cannot be done if you are planning a VBAC as
hospital guidelines recommend continuous monitoring which cannot be
done in a tub.
Hydrotherapy
Using
water
during the labor process is not a new idea.
It has been used for decades both abroad and here in the United
States. Laboring in water can be very
relaxing and calming. Laboring in water
can increase your pain tolerance. If you
are having a normal pregnancy and labor, you can use hydrotherapy
(shower or
tub) during your labor experience. The
buoyancy that water offers from laboring in a tub also allows for
greater ease
